De Kunstenbond maakt deel uit van de Alliantie Dans Veilig. De Alliantie stelt zich tot doel om grensoverschrijdend gedrag in de breedste zin van het woord uit de sector te bannen.

SCHRIKBARENDE CIJFERS

Het rapport van Verinorm onder leiding van Marjan Olfers toonde dat het bitter slecht is gesteld met de sociale veiligheid binnen de danssector. Grensoverschrijdend (seksueel) gedrag komt helaas nog veelvuldig voor. Maar liefst 39% van de dansers heeft te maken gehad met grensoverschrijdend gedrag het afgelopen jaar (2023).

De Kunstenbond heeft veel leden die werkzaam zijn in de danswereld, zowel als professioneel danser, als docent of als student. Voor de Kunstenbond is het van groot belang dat zoveel mogelijk organisaties en instanties die werkzaam zijn op het gebied van zowel de professionele als amateurdans zich verenigen om gezamenlijk dit hardnekkige probleem van grensoverschrijdend gedrag aan te pakken. De danssector moet een veilige sector zijn voor iedereen.

TIJD VOOR ERKENNING

Het ondertekenen van dit convenant is een eerste serieuze gezamenlijke stap om tot een daadwerkelijke cultuurverandering binnen de sector te komen. Uiteraard richt het convenant zich vooral op het heden en de toekomst. Waarbij het voorkomen van ongewenst grensoverschrijdend gedrag een topprioriteit is. Daarnaast dienen de slachtoffers de erkenning te krijgen die hen toekomt. En moeten we ons ook hard maken voor enige vorm van compensatie voor het leed dat hen is aangedaan.

Today, the Alliantie Dans Veilig signed a covenant on tackling transgressive behavior in the dance sector. The Kunstenbond is part of the Safe Dance Alliance. This alliance sets itself the task of eliminating transgressive behavior in the broadest sense of the term from the sector.

The Kunstenbond has many members who work in the dance world, whether as a professional dancer, a teacher or as a student. It is of great importance to the Kunstenbond that as many organizations as possible, active in the field of both professional and amateur dance unite to tackle this persistent problem of transgressive behaviour. The dance sector must be a safe space for everyone.

TIME FOR RECOGNITION

By signing this covenant, a first serious step has been taken to achieve actual cultural change within the sector. Naturally, the covenant’s focus is primarily on the present and future. With the prevention of undesirable transgressive behavior being a top priority. But in addition, the victims must receive the recognition they deserve. And we will also have to press for some form of compensation for the suffering they have endured.
